The Masoala Rainforest Hall

The Masoala hall in the Zurich Zoo is a glass house reproducing a piece of Madagascar jungle, on a surface of 11’000 sq meters. Up to 30°C and 80% humidity would suffice to make you feel like in a tropical country. More than 60 animal species and about 170 species of trees and other plants make you forget that you are in Zurich. The richness of life in the Masoala hall is simply awesome. This Chameleon is one example of what will expect you there!

Be advised to dress in layers, so that you can take something off inside the hall, you definitely will feel the warmth and humidity!

Do reserve at least an hour to 1 1/2 hour for the visit

Children will enjoy exploring the rainforest hall. I saw some fascinated faces there!

The restaurants serve you with snacks or meals – local or international – or just drinks. You can also reserve them for events.

How to get there:

In Zurich, take the Tram 6 to the Zoo (end station)

If you take the car, just follow the directions to the Zoo. There is enough parking space.

A visit to the Masoala hall is highly recommended and educative. Additionally it is a welcome escape from the cold and wet weather!

I will be adding a more detailed post on the Masoala hall soon, make sure to sign up for the updates not to miss it
